Carl rogers stated that some events are experienced below the threshold of awareness and are either ignored or denied.
This could happen because our brain do not considered the event as 'relevant' for us so it decided to ignore it.
Or the brain act to fulfill self-defense mechanism because the event might mentally traumatize us, so it decided to denied it.
