We use the following trigonometric relationship to find the base of the triangle and the remaining side of the rectangle.
 We have then:
 sine (45) = x / 0.7
 We clear x:
 x = 0.7 * sine (45)
 x = 0.494974747
 x = 0.5
 Then, we look for the area of the figure:
 Area of the rectangle:
 A1 = (0.4) * (0.5) = 0.2
 Triangle area:
 A2 = (1/2) * (0.5) * (0.9-0.4)
 A2 = 0.125
 The total area will be:
 A = A1 + A2
 A = 0.2 + 0.125
 A = 0.325 m ^ 2
 Answer:
 A = 0.325 m ^ 2
