A psychologist would tend to view Mary’s gender role as being composed of "both masculine and feminine characteristics". 

A gender role, otherwise called a sex part, is a social part enveloping a scope of practices and dispositions that are by and large viewed as worthy, suitable, or attractive for individuals in view of their real or supposed sex or sexuality.
