Andrew Jackson thought united states was better in 1830 than 1609 mainly because it weren't in existance back then as independent country (You shoudve simply wrote America not USA) and that was the reason why he thought so in 1830 the country as independent was young in 1609 it was also a young country but not independent, so answer is being independent
