Simplify (x+3)(x+6)/(x+3)(x+2)

You can see immediately that (x+3) appears in both the numerator and the denominator.  Cancel.  This leaves you with 

x+6
-----
x+2

This is true EXCEPT for x = -3 and x = -2.
