Since y is equal to both equations, the equations are equal to each other as well.

6x-8=4x+6

Add 8 to both sides.

6x= 4x+14

Subtract 4x on both sides.

2x= 14

Divide by 2.

x=7.

Now, plug that into one of the equations for y.

6(7)-8= y

42-8= y

34= y

So, x= 7 and y= 34.

I hope this helps!
