132=1/2x+2(x-9)                                                                                                    Multiply the number outside of the parenthesis by everything inside, so you get 2x-18. You now have 132=1/2x+2x-18. Combine like terms. 1/2x+2x=2.5x. you now have 132=2.5x-18. Now add 18 to both sides. 132+18=150. Now, you have 150=2.5x. Divide each side by 2.5. 2.5 goes into 150 60 times, so x=60
