The economy of the Middle colonies is much different than the economy of the New England Colonies and the Southern Colonies. The main economic activity in the Middle Colonies was farming. Unlike the New England Colonies the Middle colonies grew cash crops. These mainly consisted of grains (such as wheat), and corn.
