They are mutually exclusive, therefore both events cannot happen at the same time... P(A and B) = 0
an example of a mutually exclusive event would be picking marbles out of a bag that contains red marbles and green marbles. If you pick only one marble you will get either red or green, but you will never get a marble that is red AND green. Does that make sense?
