Is it possible to construct a triangle with side lengths of 1 ft, 3 ft, and 4 ft? Why or why not?

To make a triangle, the longest side must be
less than the sum of the other 2 sides and
more than the difference of the other 2 sides.

A triangle isn't formed because the longest side is NOT less than the sum of the other 2 sides.
