The answer to this question is  4v+8
12v+3-6v-9=2v-14+w
12v+3-6v-9-2v+14=w
12v-6v-2v+14-9+3=w
6v-2v+5+3=w
4v+8=w

According from calculations, you should distributive. when you distribute the equation would be 
12v+3-6v-9= 2v-14+ w
combine like terms and add 14 to both sides.
6v=8= 2v+w
and subtract 2v to both sides
which will leave 
3v+8=w
opps I don't think that's one of the options... hehehe sorry
