Suppose that y varies inversely with x, and y = 3 when x = 5. What is an equation for the inverse variation?

So if y = 3 and x = 5 then we have
  3= y(1/6)
Solve for y
  y= 24

Therefore the equation should be
y = 24/x

So when x = 3
y = 24/3
y = 8
