I need help solving this math equation "Z-5=-8". Is it -3 or 13?

The answer is -3. When you add 5 to both sides to isolate the z variable, the 5 is added to the -8. 5 - 8 = -3.

3 because you already have the -5 and need to reach -8 so the answer is -3
