What is the output, or y-value, when you input x = 2 into the function:
y = 2x3 − 6x.

First, put fill in the X's with 2.
y = 2*2*3 - 6*2

Next, multiply.
y = 12 - 12

Finally, subtract!
y = 0

Apparently, Y equals 0.

2(2)3-6(2)
4(3)- 12
12-12 =0 =y


now if the 2x3 was actually referring to 2(3) then it will be:
2(3)-6(2)
6-12 =-6=y
