Your biggest advantage is going to be genetic diversity. The upside to genetic diversity is if a disease or other event sweeps through, some entities will survive as they have mutated from the constant genetic swaps. The biggest downside to sexual reproduction is in order to reproduce, an entity would have to find a suitable mate and if they don't they will not reproduce.
