the equation in your problem y^2 x^2=9 is a circle with the center (0,0) and the radius of 3. 

The 2nd ordered pair 1,1 is in this circle because 1^2+1&2=2. Therefore, point 1/1 is inside the circle and any  line containing that point is in the circle. 

Yes, 1,1 intersects.
