Equation 1)  y-x=11
Equation 2)  y+x=5

Add equations together.

2y=16

Divide both sides by 2.

y=8

Plug in Y into equation 1.

(8)-x=11

Subtract 8 from both sides.

-x=3

Divide both sides by -1.

x=-3

(-3, 8)
