What two numbers multiplied equal 24 and when added equal -4

A) x * y = 24
B) x + y = -4
A) x = 24/y
Substitute this into B)
B) 24/y + y = -4
multiplying each side by y
B) 24 + y^2 = -4y
y^2 + 4y + 24 = 0

There seems to be no solution.
