Answer: [tex]\textsf{-3/10}[/tex]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Given: [tex]\textsf{Points (-4, 5) and (6, 2)}[/tex]
Find: [tex]\textsf{Slope of the line that goes between the points}[/tex]
Solution: In order to determine the slope of a line we need to follow the slope formula to determine it. Just plug in the values and simplify.
Plug in the values
- [tex]m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}[/tex]
- [tex]m = \frac{2 - 5}{6 - (-4)}[/tex]
Simplify the expression
- [tex]m = \frac{-3}{6 + 4}[/tex]
- [tex]m = -\frac{3}{10}[/tex]
Using those two points we were able to determine that the slope of the line that goes through the points is -3/10.
