Sometimes people pick and choose what they want to honor in history. They may leave huge parts out of it and simply honor only what THEY feel like honoring. This quote is basically saying to honor the full story and not only snips and pieces of it. In other words, history is what has brought us to where we are today so it’s important that we honor it all !!
