Explain the difference between the questions "Como estas Raul?" and "Como es Raul?"

Como Estas Raul means "How are you Raul?" So the way you use como esters Raul is if you are asking Raul personally. Como es Raul, means "How is Raul?" Like if you were asking someone else about Raul, but not asking Raul.
