8 (3/4) is 6 because if you multiply 8 by the denominator, you get 2*3 and that is 6

and now you should have 6 / ( -3 (1 / 2))

what you can do from here is substitute the 1 on the 1/2 for -3 and you should have -3/2, and from there you should have 6/-1.5, and you can go even further, and you would have -4.
