A band earns $\frac{2}{3}$
of their profit from selling concert tickets and $\frac{1}{5}$
of their profit from selling merchandise. The band earns $1500 from selling concert tickets. How much money does the band earn from selling merchandise?

Dividing 2/3 profit of selling concert tickets by 1/5 profit from selling band mechandise.

(2/3) / (1/5) = 10/3 = 3 1/3

Hence band members make 3 1/3 or 10/3 times more profit from ticket sales than from band merchandise sales.

This can be elaborate in such a way also.  

Let suppose the total profit is $30.

then the profit from the ticket sale = 2/3 of 30 = $20

and the profit from the band merchandise sales = 1/5 of 30 = $6

Now dividing 20 by 6, which gives 10/3. the same answer that were calculated above.
