The slope of horizontal lines is zero because they are straight with no curve.

The slope is calculates using the rise over the run.

Rise= How many units we move up. Here we move 0 units.

Whatever the run is (NOT 0) if we divide 0 by the run, we will get 0.

Diagonal lines always have slope.
