Answer:

y = 2x + 3 .... 1

x - y = -2 ...... 2

substitute the value of y in equation 2

x - (2x +3) = -2

x - 2x -3 = -2

-x = - 2 + 3

-x = 1

divide by -1 on both sides

x = -1

substitute the value of x in equation 1

y = 2 (-1) + 3

y = -2 + 3

y = 1
