There was CHANGE happening during the Industrial Revolution (i.e. farm work to machine work). So the economy was changing aka "transforming".

A revolution would be a synonym for a rebellion/uprising/upheaval if we were talking about an event like the French Revolution (French poor were rebelling against the rich Royals).
