Because of many reason, most of which include:
-Unlike other religions at the time, they allowed women to gain wealth, participate in business
-Islam was an Abrahamic religion, just like Christianity and Judaism
-They accepted other Abrahamic religons, thinking of them as allies, opposed to enemies
-It started in Arabia, which was a popular center for trade, causing Islam to spread quickly throughout Asia
