answer : 2x + 6 = x - 3

X is the “number”, and twice of X is 2x. You get a sum from addition, so you would add 6 and 2x to get 2x + 6

If 3 was subtracted FROM the number itself, it would be x-3, as 3 is being subtracted FROM the number.
