Given :

JL with J(-5,-1) and L(19,-9), if K lies on JL such that the ratio of JK to JL 7:8.

To Find :

The coordinates of K.

Solution :

We know , point with divide in ratio m : n is given by :

[tex][\dfrac{mx_2+nx_1}{m+n},\dfrac{my_2+ny_2}{m+n}][/tex]

Putting all given values in above equation , we get :

[tex][\dfrac{7(19)+8(-5)}{7+8},\dfrac{7(-9)+8(-1)}{7+8}]\\\\(6.2,-4.73)[/tex]

Hence, this is the required solution.
