Let x and y pounds of Candy A and Candy B be mixed respectively.

Rate of Candy A and Candy B are $0.78 and $1.33 per pound respectively.

Now,

(A) x + y = 8

(B) 0.78x + 1.33y = 7.84

Solving both equations :

0.33y = 1.6

x = 3.16 pounds of Candy A

y = 4.84 pounds of Candy B
