[tex]x+y=11[/tex]
Rearrange and substitute
[tex]y=11-x[/tex]
[tex]x(11-x)=-10[/tex]
[tex] -x^{2} +11x+10=0[/tex]
[tex](-x+10)(x-1)[/tex]
[tex]x=1or,x=-10[/tex]
substitute 1 and -10 in for x to find y
