The value of u is -144

Solution:

Given that,

[tex]-24 = u \div 6[/tex]

We have to solve for "u"

From given,

[tex]-24 = u \div 6[/tex]

Convert the division problem into multiplication, by changing the division sign to multiplication sign. Then invert the number to right of division sign

Thus we get,

[tex]-24 = u \times \frac{1}{6}\\\\\frac{u}{6} = -24[/tex]

Isolate for u

[tex]u = -24 \times 6\\\\On\ multiplying\ both\ we\ get\\\\u = -144[/tex]

Thus the value of u is -144
