The mixture will begin to melt at 43.2°C

Explanation:

In a mixture, given that no new substance is created the melting point will be the same of the substances mixed. Also it doesn't depend of the amount of each substance (althought it may be difficult to see if the one with the lower melting temperature is in a small quantity).

So we have:

  • Steatic acid => Melting point= 69.3°C
  • Lauric acid => Melting point= 43.2°C

The mixture will begin to melt at 43.2°C
