The pseudomurein is a polymer similar to peptidoglycan but has L amino acids in the cross-links rather than D-amino acids as found in peptidoglycan. Pseudomurein contains N -acetyltalosaminuronic and the type of glycosidic linkage is β(1→3) glycosidic bonds. It is called pseudomurein due to its similarities with murein (peptidoglycan) which in turn makes the cell walls of bacteria.
