The first term in an arithmetic series is -11, while the 29th term in the series is 45. What is the sum of the first 29 terms in the series?

a1= -11

T29= 45

Using formula

Sn= n/2 (a1+Tn), we get

S29= 29/2(-11+45)

=29/2 × 34

=29×17

=493
