no because you multiply 1/5 by 8 ans you will get 8/40 mean while you got 7/8 and multiply that by 5 and you get 35/40 so the answer is no

mutliply both fractions by what makes the bottom numbers 40
1/5
5 times what=40?
answer is 8
multily by 1 or 8/8
1/5 times 8/8=8/40


7/8
8 is bottom
8 times what is 40? answer is 5
multiply by 1 or 5/5
7/8 times 5/5=35/40
1/5=8/40
7/8=35/40
they are not equal
