Insert that into the equation:

13x-4(-10-3x)=-10 so we only have 1 variable.

Use the distributive property 13x+40-12x=-10

Use the communative property: x+40=-10

Than subtract on both sides so our final solution is x=-50

Than to find out x substitute -50 for the first equation

-10-3(-50)=-4y

-10+150=-4y

divide so y is 35
