Benedict Arnold was born in 1741 in Connecticut. In his early life he was considered a hero of the Revolutionary War.
Because he believed he was never justly rewarded, in 1779 he started having secret meetings with the British army. The plan was to turn in the U.S post in West Point in exchange for money and a position in the British force.
