So the formula for rate of change is y2-y1/x2-x1 or y1-y2/x1-x2, so with (0,4) and (3,0) the answer is -0.75

Rise over run is 4/3 which is basically the rate of change but if you need a decimal you would divide 4 by 3 and the answer will be 1.33
