oxygen 16 is a stable isotope and has a natural abundance of 99.762% 

nitrogen 16 is an unstable isotope with a half life of 7.13 seconds meaning it is nearly nonexistent

joey is probably thinking of nitrogen 14 which is a stable isotope and has a natural abundance of 99.6%
