Set up the equation:

[tex](-4x - 2) \times 2x[/tex]

Distribute 2x to both of the terms in parentheses:

[tex]-4x \times 2x = -8x^{2}[/tex]
[tex]-2 \times 2x = -4x[/tex]

[tex]-8x^{2} - 4x[/tex]
