I believe granite is a mixture as opposed to a compound. Granite consists of many different types of compounds, thus it is not a pure substance (contains only one compound). Granite is a mixture of pure substances; it is also a heterogeneous mixture as it does not have a uniform composition. Heterogeneous mixtures have at least two visible phases.,
