I did the math and there were two answers 1. 15.849 2. 3.849

The given equation is [tex] x^2-12x=61 [/tex]. Add 36 to both the sides of the equation, then

[tex] x^2-12x+36=61+36 [/tex].

The equation becomes,

[tex] x^2-12x+6^2=97\\
(x-6)^2=97 [/tex]
