Hydrazine, N2H4, is a liquid fuel that has been used for many years in the engines of space probes. It was famously used in the terminal-descent engines that successfully landed the Curiosity rover on the surface of Mars in 2012. When passed over a suitable catalyst, hydrazine decomposes quickly in a multi-step exothermic chemical reaction. The overall equation for this process is:
N2H4(l) -> N2(g) + 2H2(g)
DeltaH = - 50.3k
Calculate the energy released per kilogram of hydrazine in the equation.
