A 275×65×20×3 lipped channel section is used as a beam which is 5m long and simply
supported at its ends. The beam is carrying an ultimate distributed load of 2.5k N/M along its
entire length, and laterally unsupported. The concentrated load at the supports is applied along
the length of 100mm. Check if this beam is adequate. For the moment capacity, only check
the member moment capacity. Use Grade G300 cold formed steel. Comment on any significant
findings.
